An Interview w/ Snoop Dogg & Tookie Williams You can peep the interview by going here: odeo.com/audio/490410/view Yesterday, (Dec 7th) we rolled up to San Quentin prison and caught up with Snoop Dogg who finally was allowed inside the walls to visit with Big Tookie aka Stan Tookie Williams. For those who dont know Mr. Williams is the co-founder of the Crips gang and was convicted of murdering 4 people 25 years ago. During his time behind bars he rehabilitated and started calling for peace and renounced his Crip affiliation. He has written a number of childrens books advocating for kids to go down the right path and to avoid gang life. So profound was his work that he got nominated for a Noble Peace prize 5 times. One thing is certain his redemption has inspired current gang members to move in the direction of peace. He has definitely inspired Snoop Dogg In any case we caught up with Snoop who held an impromptu press conference as he was leaving San Quentin and asked him what he thought about the whole situation He spoke about the spirit of Tookie and how he was moved by him. he talked about what Tookie meant to fellow gang bangers and why he would be better alive then dead. he also talked about the enormous responsibility Arnold Schwartznegger had in terms of turning down or granting him clemency. Snoop was definitely on point with his remarks. Earlier this week fellow journalist and community activist Jasmyne A. Cannick got a chance to interview Stan Tookie Williams. He talked to her about his redemption and why he was hoping to the Governor will do the right thing and spare his life. We play excerpts from that interview You will also hear sound excerpts from Malik Shabbazz from the New Black Panther Party, Fred Hampton Jr. of the POCC and Aqeela Sherill of the Peace Warriors.. "Tookie", as he is called, murdered for no reason that anyone but a gang nigger would understand, four innocent people and laughed about it afterward. If anyone deserves a slow death, this colored does. I would personally give him the shot, although an injection is too good for his kind.

I really don't care what your background is but if you want to play Lucifer and get people upset this is what you do... 1. jump off of a building head first. They make a big deal about how much he has reformed. Does that mean that you get extra credit for being a truly terrible person in the first place? If one of us killed a total of four people in two separate incidents and came out stating that I didn't do it, but you kids should not kill anyone, how much credit would we would get for helping the world? I don't see why he gets bonus points for being a monster in the first place.

The death penalty does nothing to deter crime, i mean @#%$, look at our crime rates now compared to other industrilized countries. yeah and the fact that it is racially biased doesn't sit well with me either. anyone that has faith in the american justice system is oblivious to what this country is doing. Don't you guys realize people @#%$ up in life and if you looked at the social settings it might explain why he was the way he was. no, america doesn't do that. lets just throw them in prison and execute the bad ones. that will solve the problem...oh wait it hasnt!!

I am literally amazed that this man has done so much to show that though he helped to start the Crips, he is not down with the killing and banging going on in the streets. Why the @#%$ would an unrepentant man help organize a gang truce? When people are unrepentant they don't act that way. Moreover there is evidence that he didn't do it in addition to the fact that because of the complete exclusion of African American jury members in his trial, he should have recieved a mistrial. The point is this, that just like in Radio and Television which is targeting our communities and distributing only the worst in Music and entertainment, The court, state, and federal system is trying kill the motivation of the African -American communities by saying... Not to mention brothas get slapped with crimes they didn't do, while some rich corporate fck in corporate America can embezzle millions, collapse pension plans and 401ks that affect thousands of people while destroying the financial wealth of the economy and get like 5 years or less. You call that justice? This doesn't mean that Tookie should get off, but the man is being judged by a system that is racially biased and corrupt. Not to mention, he didn't do the crime. Yes the f*cking system is saying he murked those 4 katz, but he didn't. Aiyt. He has demonstrated that he is a reformed man, and will be more beneficial to society alive than dead. It's funny how this story was overlooked. The daughter of one of the victims is not very enthusiastic about Tookie being executed. Posts: 2 (12/13/05 00:58:12) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	amen to the last two responses. on another note, people talke about how justice is being served when people like tookie die. in fact this is overwhelmingly not true. if you studied the death penalty at its effects you would see that even though victims mothers, daughters etc want the murderer deead, afterward they fell no better about the execultion. it never brought them closure. while of course there are token cases where people say they feel better after an execution there is too much evidence to overturn this argument. saw a CNN clip today which made this point clear when one of the panelists said that a father who had his son die in ok city bombings never felt justice and closure after an execution. he is now against the death penalty. when will our society learn to attack the issues of murder and crime head on instead of side stepping it? get at the root of the problem, though this goes against america so this will conceivably never happen. the way i see it though tookie is giong to a better place. god has already forgave him, and he can rest in peace. in my mind the death penalty only brings peace to the convicted not the victims family. and i conclude by saying a big @#%$ you to america, for once again demonstrating your complete ignorance.
